We are starting to create individual Texas native plants profiles and today we will put the spotlight on Bulbine (B. frutescens, B. caulescens).
From the entry:
“This aloe looking perennial is a sure candidate for most Xeriscape designs in Austin. The blooms are stellar, very unique and interesting. We install it as a low layer in our Xeriscape flowerbed designs. The plant also performs really well in pots. Remember to place Bulbine in full sun as the plant really enjoys and thrives in that environment. You may want to trim the spent blooms or leave them untouched.“
What do you think about Bulbine? Do you grow it yourself? Pictures or insights to share?
