We are starting to create individual Texas native plants profiles and today we will put the spotlight on Texas Lantana (Lantana Urticoides).
From the entry:
“Texas Lantana is considered a pesky weed by some folks; Its a true testimony to the plant’s nearly indestructible traits. Texas Lantana blooms with masses of orange/yellow flowers that seem endless. The plant is drought tolerant, disease and pest resistant and thrives in our Austin heat. It is a perfect choice for a low maintenance informal and wild flowerbeds although it works well in more formal arrangements. Xeriscape ready, provide Texas Lantana with ample space because it will get quite big. Cut back during the winter.”
